Keep following a good Chef!

Sitting at a bar, drinking and eating....
It doesn't get any better than this.


I have watched Jody Williams career blossom from the first time my wife and I ate her food a few years back in the East Village. I knew she would be a star and if I was planning on opening an Italian Restaurant, I would have snatched her!

Last night we went to her new Joint, Gottino.....52 Greenwich Avenue, just east of 7th avenue. 212 633.2590

The place is adorable and simple. One very long bar with about twenty seats, a drink and food rail for standing dwellers and a few tabled in the back.

The wine list is straight forward and they have 3 nice beers on tap. The waiters are constantly "weeded" , but still deliver good service.

We had great braised endive, wrapped with ham, a delicious hot bean dish and good fried cheese fritter.

The music was a little cheesy, but it seemed to work.....

We will certainly be back.
