Last week we went to Tanglewood to see Crosby, Stills, Nash and I was praying for Neil Young ( but that did not happen.)
Our country home is about 40 minutes from Tanglewood and if I had proper directions or knew how to use my GPS, I probably could have knocked off about 8 minutes from the trip:~)
When we got their, it brought back fond memories of when my parents brought us to listen to classical music...circa 1972! I also remember listing to Bob Dylan in 1991 and not one word he sang matched the actual lyric! (I guess he was a touch buzzed?)
The thing about Tanglewood is that people's picnics are not like the ones in Astoria Park or Prospect Park of Riverside Park. These picnickers pull out all the stops, including lawn chairs, candles, raised tables with the proper cloth napkins and tablecloth, and some serious eats and alcohol!
We had Lucien Crochet Sancerre Rose, Tomato and baby Mozzarella salad, grilled corn salad, olives, 5 types of cheeses, shrimp with chile ginger sauce, chips, salsa, hummus and Tapenade. Man were we full!
The concert was great although I think Stephen Stills should just play the guitar moving forward and leave the singing to David Crosby and Graham Nash...
It was a blast full of music, good friend and a lots of good food. I really wanted to write that when I was 5 yrs old in 1969, my parents brought me to Woodstock. If I did write that, the only way that happened was in my imagination:)
